YORK, PA, December 2018— $20 million in federal funding was recently granted for the I-95/Belvidere Road Interchange project in Cecil County, MD. The funding was awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Transportation Discretionary Grant Program.
 
The BUILD grant will fund a little less than half of the project. The remaining funds will come through a public-private partnership between the Maryland Transportation Authority, Cecil County and Stewart Properties, which owns the Principio Business Park near the planned interchange.

This public/private partnership successfully worked together to help make Cecil County’s vision for future balanced growth a reality” noted Gary Stewart,Jr., President of Stewart Properties.
 
Principio Business Park’s large distribution tenants such as Amazon, Restoration Hardware and GE Appliance, along with planned future tenants, will benefit greatly from this new easy access point on I-95.  The current 7-mile trip to I-95 will be reduced to less than 2.5 miles.
